Community Involvement

EPUD's Board of Directors and employees are your neighbors. We live in the same communities and support them in many ways, big and small. EPUD supports its communities' annual events as much as possible. We're in the parades; we bring our Ice Cream Social booth to the festivals; we're involved in the Chambers of Commerce; we participate in United Way's Annual Day of Caring; we donate to Food for Lane County and much more. Want us to be involved in YOUR event? Give us a call at 746-1583 or email us.

EPUD Relay for Life

For the first time this year, EPUD employees have formed a Relay for Life team! We'll be walking around the LCC track from noon on Friday July 24 through noon Saturday July 25 in support of finding the cure for cancer. Our team has raised over $1400 to date! Interested in donating? Contact Hillary McBride, EPUD Community Relations Officer at 744-7488.

Earth Day and Arbor Day- April 2009

April offered many opportunities for EPUD to be involved in our local communities. On Earth Day, April 22, a group of EPUD employees volunteered for the Coast Fork of the Willamette Watershed Council in Creswell that is coordinating restoration efforts at Garden Lake Park. We laid bark on trails, maintained plantings, and removed invasive species. On Arbor Day, April 24, EPUD volunteers joined a class of 3rd and 4th graders at Latham Elementary School in Cottage Grove and planted five new Power Friendly shade trees in the playground. Students learned about the many benefits of trees, helped dig the holes, and planted the trees.

Food for Lane County Food Drive 2008

EPUD employees donated over 400 pounds of food this year in our December Food Drive for Food for Lane County.

United Way Day of Caring 2008

EPUD participates in the United Way Day of Caring every year. This year, our crews tackled the Wallace Creek Girl Scout camp in Jasper. We painted buildings, mowed and cut back thick grass, trees and brush, and cleaned the main lodge.
